Although the market of dry containers has faced challenges, reefer volumes continue to increase because of global demand for fresh products and other commodities.
As a result, according to Maersk’s press release, the decision to exit the dry container business resulted to shutting down the production facility in Dongguan, China.
Concluding, the decision on reefer technology will not affect MCI’s other facilities which will continue to operate as usual.
