During April 2019, Iran’s Lengeh port and its subsidiaries in the western part of Hormozgan Province handled a total of 1.2657 thousand and 971 tons of oil and non-oil products, which shows an increase of 71% compared to the same period last year.
During the last month, exports of non-oil products specifically increased by 55%, noted Ports and Maritime manager of Lengeh port, Ghasem Askari Nasab.
Of the total operations carried out at the ports of western Hormozgan, with the handling of more than 90,000 tons of oil and non-oil products, Lengeh Port experienced a 39% growth in March 2019.
With this respect, Mr. Ghasem Askari Nasab, noted that Lengeh Port and its subsidiaries have well-developed infrastructure for the export of various types of goods, including construction materials, refrigerated containers and mineral shipments, ready to serve traders and investors in this region.
Askari Nasab added that the recorded volume of non-oil imports in the western Hormozgan is 1,804 tons, indicating that the figure fell 67% compared to the same period last year.
During the mentioned period, the volume of transit of non-oil goods (mostly cars) reached 24,000 and 603 tons, which represents a 30% growth compared to the same period last year.
