Kawasaki Kisen Kaisha, Ltd. (“K” LINE) has signed a long-term time charter contract with GAIL (India) Limited for an LNG carrier.
The deal was formalized through a ship-owning company established in Singapore. A signing ceremony was held in India, and as part of this agreement, the ship-owning company has also concluded a shipbuilding contract with Samsung Heavy Industries Co., Ltd. for the construction of a 174,000 m³ LNG carrier.
The vessel has an overall length (LOA) of approximately 290 meters and a beam of 45.8 meters. It is powered by a 2-stroke propulsion system, enabling it to reach a maximum speed of 19.5 knots. It is scheduled for delivery in 2027.
To remind, PONTUS HIGHWAY, an LNG car carrier with a capacity of 7,000 vehicles, was delivered to “K” LINE on 28 November.
