ABL has partnered with the University of Strathclyde and the University of Plymouth to develop a decision-making software aimed at supporting decarbonization strategies for the maritime industry, including vessels and ports.
According to ABL, the software is designed to help decision-makers such as shipowners, charterers, port managers, and policymakers in navigating the complexities of evolving decarbonization policies and technological uncertainties.
It aims to offer valuable assistance in creating decarbonization roadmaps, evaluating investment pathways, and making informed decisions, while also benefiting financial institutions and insurers dealing with related policies.
The project, co-funded by Innovate UK, will run for 24 months and will be supported by software engineers working alongside ABL’s maritime decarbonization team in London, drawing expertise from the academic partners.
We will apply our expertise within maritime operations, vessels and ports design, energy and emission modelling to develop the new software. This will enable us to provide advanced predictive analysis and simulations, assisting our clients to navigate the complexities and uncertain conditions of their decarbonisation strategy.
