The Jacksonville Port Authority (JAXPORT) achieved its highest monthly container volumes in August, moving nearly 115,700 TEUs. The previous JAXPORT monthly container record of 115,300 TEUs was set in December 2017.
JAXPORT’s container volumes increased 20% year–to–date in fiscal year 2018. Considering the volumes moving through private terminals, Jacksonville’s port will exceed last year’s record-setting 1.3 million TEUs.

The port’s Asian container volumes showed significant growth, up by 10% year–to–date with almost 382,000 TEUs moved so far in 2018. What is more, the deepening of Jacksonville’s shipping channel to 47 feet to welcome even more cargo aboard the largest ships is well underway.
JAXPORT’s Puerto Rican volumes increased by 34% to date with about 669,700 TEUs moved. JAXPORT and its partners also continue to supply aid to the residents following Hurricane Maria’s devastation in September 2017.
