A cargo of Iranian crude oil that was seized by the United States, for transporting Iranian oil, was sailing to the Bahamas on 20th September, with a new name, ship tracking data reflected.
In particular, the oil tanker was Suez Rajan, and as informed it was transporting over 980,000 barrels of Iranian contraband crude oil, which the U.S. seized through a sanctions enforcement mission.
As explained, it could not unload Iranian crude for nearly two and half months due to worries that secondary sanctions might be imposed on the vessels used to discharge Iranian crude.
The ship was given the name St. Nikolas once the cargo was discharged.
According to news, the company of the ship sentenced to three years of corporate probation and a nearly $2.5 million fine, per legal documents.
