A COSCO’s 20,000 TEU Ultra Large Container Ship (ULCS) collided with the general cargo ship “Mercury Triumph”, in March 29 in East China sea, 50 nm south of Seogwipo port.
Reportedly, the ULCS is the “COSCO Shipping Leo”, and had 150 people on board at the time of the accident. According to information, the ship sustained bow starboard damages, including dented hull plating, and its anchor was lost.

“Mercury Triumph” sustained damages to its hull from fore to aft, as well as water ingress in ballast tanks. As a result the ship was disabled and drifted.
No casualties, or injures were reported.
