Grounded off Ireland
The Shannon-based coastguard helicopter has just left for the scene of a 7,000-ton German cargo ship which has gone aground in Cashla Bay in Connemara.
The Pantanal ran aground at 5 am in heavy seas and strong winds according to Valentia coastguard.
It has 14 men on board and had arrived in the bay yesterday to pick up two small passenger ferry boats at Rossaveal Harbour today.
The two boats had been repossessed by a bank and were sold in Galway last month.
