Geospaces company, Shearwater, was awarded with the largest ever 4-D seismic campaign in the Asia Pacific region, which covers six fields operated by Woodside in Australia.
The campaign will commence in the 4Q of 2019 and covers new 4D acquisition over the Pluto, Brunello, Laverda, Cimatti, and Vincent fields with an option for one additional field.
The campaign will be conducted using the Amazon Conqueror, one of the world’s most advanced seismic vessels, purpose built for environmentally friendly seismic acquisition, and equipped with Isometrix the leading multi-component multi-sensor seismic streamer system.
Moreover, the campaign will enhance the company’s understanding of the field’s production performance in the future and will also provide data for future field developments.
Irene Waage Basili, the CEO of Shearwater GeoServices commented
By using Isometrix, the world’s most advanced multi-sensor seismic acquisition technology, Woodside will get high-quality 4D seismic data to support future field activities.
Moreover, this is the second campaign the company is conducting; The first 4D seismic campaign took place in Senegal in early 2019 and covered the Sangomar, Sangomar Deep and Rufisque Offshore blocks, which contain the SNE discovery.
Recenty, while the Polar Marquis vessel was located offshore Senegal, a fire broke out in its engine room. The fire was put out and there were no injuries.
