The first private naval high school (lyceum) is to inaugurate in Greece within September, at the North Aegean island of Chios. The new school was officially unveiled at the Maria Tsakos Foundation, on 7 August.
Captain Panagiotis Tsakos, shipowner and founder of the “Tsakos Hellenic Schools of Naval Training” referred to the technology and knowhow that has become part of naval education and to the long maritime tradition of Greece:

The event was attended, among others, by the ambassadors of Brazil, Cesario Melantonio Neto, and Japan Yasuhiro Shimizu, representatives of local authorities and members of Tsakos Group.
