McDermott International, Inc. along with Chiyoda International Corporation and Zachry Group, announced that the first commissioning cargo of LNG has been shipped from Train 2 of the Freeport LNG project on Quintana Island in Freeport, Texas.
The announcement for the first cargo is considered a precursor to substantial completion of Train 2.
Currently, Freeport LNG Trains 2 and 3 remain on schedule with Train 3 initial production of LNG planned for the first quarter of 2020.
Commenting on this development, Mark Coscio, McDermott’s Senior Vice President for North, Central and South America, stated:
The ongoing momentum of this project has accelerated us past multiple accomplishments, including Train 1’s introduction of feed gas, first liquid and first cargo. And, we are well on our way toward commercial operation for Train 2. I commend the project team for delivering these results and getting us closer to substantial completion

Recently, McDermott International, Chiyoda International Corporation and Zachry Group had announced that the Train 2 of the Freeport LNG project had begun producing its first LNG fuel. The project known as Cameron LNG Liquefaction project, involves four liquefaction trains, located on Quintana Island in Freeport, Texas.
Train 1 of the three trains, was successfully completed in late August this year and is considered to be the precursor of the first cargo from the LNG terminal.
For the records, the joint venture lead, Zachry Group has also partnered with McDermott in 2011, for the pre- FEED which then followed the FEED works, in order to boost the early development and establishment of the project as a one-stop-shop solution provider for Trains 1 and 2.
