A fire broke out onboard a tour vessel off Phuket, while the ship was going through maintenance checks.
According to report, the ship was reportedly anchored in Muang district, and after the fire broke out it sustained damages, but luckily no loss of lives or injuries.
As the fire was reported, some witnesses saw flames on the boat’s right side prow, also hearing an explosion. The fire destroyed parts of the ship but was successfully put out before it could spread to the engine’s compartments.
Further information reports that as the ship was going through maintenance checks, it was not in service.
The cause is now under investigation.
