A fire broke out on 30 January at a shipyard south of the Suez Canal in Egypt, destroying multiple fishing boats and other vessels.
The fire that broke out in the shipyard on 30 January in the Adabiya area, south of the Suez Canal, burned for about six hours before emergency teams managed to successfully contain it. Local reports state that the director of Civil Defence Forces dispatched 12 fire trucks to the site to contain the flames and prevent them from spreading to nearby fishing boats and other vessels.
In addition, companies in Suez have further supported firefighting efforts by sending teams equipped tools and long-range water cannons. Heavy machinery, including loaders, was also deployed to clear debris, helping civil defense teams gain better access to contain the flames more effectively.
Officials reported that at least ten fishing boats and other vessels were destroyed in the fire. Authorities are currently investigating the cause of the fire and the factors that contributed to its rapid spread.
