ExxonMobil informed that a new unit opened in Texas to increase production of ultra-low sulphur fuels by about 45,000 barrels per day. The new unit relies on a proprietary catalyst system to remove sulphur and meet US Environmental Protection Agency specifications.
The new unit aims to produce cleaner, higher-value products using proprietary catalysts and processes, Bryan W. Milton, president ExxonMobil Fuels & Lubricants Company, noted.

The Beaumont facility can have logistics advantages, as it is near terminals, railways, pipelines and waterways. It also will benefit from Permian production growth. More than 2,000 employees support its refining and chemical manufacturing operations.
The creation of the new unit came at a time when the abundance of domestically produced oil and natural gas has dramatically reduced energy costs and created new sources of feedstock for US refining and chemical manufacturing.
