On September 17th, the Evergreen container ship Ever Oath encountered a significant setback when its engines failed while approaching Vung Tau, Vietnam.
The Panama-flagged vessel was en route from Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia, when the incident occurred. Tugs were swiftly dispatched to provide assistance in navigating the ship’s voyage and it was successfully towed to its designated location at the Cai Mep container terminal.
The container ship has a deadweight tonnage (dwt) of 33,541. It also has a capacity to carry 2,476 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) and was constructed in the year 2022.
It is managed by Evergreen and insured by the the Japan Ship Owners’ Mutual Protection & Indemnity Association.
