The European Commission is upgrading new electronic systems necessary to apply the provisions of the new Union Customs Code (UCC). Namely, a new user interface has been created within the EU Trader Portal.
The EU Trader Portal is a single electronic access point at EU level for accessing the electronic customs system. Traders will be using this new interface within the EU Trader Portal to get information on tariff classification of the goods that they intend to import or export.

Since traders will be using it, the Commission asked feedback from them before putting the application live in October 2019.
As of 2 October 2017, the transitional arrangements for applying for customs decisions ended. After this, the European Commission and EU Member States have designed a new “Customs Decisions System”, based upon an IT architecture containing both national and EU common components.
The central Customs Decisions System (CDS) is to be used for all applications and decisions which may impact more than one Member State, and for any event which may affect the original application or decision.
Some Member States will use CDS also to manage their national customs decisions, which have only a national impact, whilst other Member States will use their national customs decisions system.
