Speaking about Dunkirk LNG terminal, Dunkerque LNG’s director of business development Cécile Grégoire-David, said that its position at the entrance to the North Sea benefits its to meet Europe’s increasing demand for LNG.
Many factors are contributing towards this goal. Namely, a truck-loading bay is about to start operations in the beginning of 2019. The bay will be a bunkering tool for the ferry Honfleur.

In addition, the development of the port’s jetty will also boost its bunkering abilities. to meet increasing demand. As of now, the jetty is able to serve ships between 65,000 m3 to Q-Max. However, the modified jetty will accommodate vessels sized between 5,000 m3-30,000 m3.
This project will cost around €1.5M-2M and will replace the ancilliary fenders. It will also install a gangway, probably during mid-2019.
Finally, a small-scale jetty will welcome vessels sized from 3,000 m3, Ms. Grégoire-David informed. Technical issues like the use of hoses or piping and the viability of the tructures are currently being considered.
Nevertheless, an investment decision for the dedicated jetty is expected by June 2019.
