Doosan Infracore signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on their cooperation for the development of LNG engines for small vessels with KOGAS and Samjin Yard.
This MOU was concluded with a recent increase in demand for converting small domestic ships with diesel engines to LNG-powered ships.
This agreement was signed with in an effort the three companies to contribute to the reduction of pollutants, greenhouse gas emissions and the new growth of the Korean shipbuilding and offshore engineering industry through the conversion of fuels for ships.
Yoo Joon-ho, Head and Vice President of the Engine Business Unit at Doosan Infracore, was quoted as saying that he anticipates to export LNG marine engines in the future, which is an important turning point for eco-friendly conversion of the domestic small-sized marine market operated solely by diesel engines.
