When the water line broke on the cruise ship “Carnival Dream”, on Thursday, May 3 , it flooded one of the ship’s decks. At that time the ship was sailing in the Caribbean. The ship continued its voyage without problems and it returned to its homeport of New Orleans on Sunday, 6 of May.
The water line break took place in the evening and it took six hours for the crew to replace hall and stateroom carpeting, dry out other sections of carpeting, and restore the 50 staterooms. The water main break did not impact the operation of the ship.

The incident was probably caused by a malfunction of a fire suppression system onboard the ship. According to a Carnival spokesperson, the passengers received a full refund, and a future cruise credit.
There were no injuries as a result from the incident.
