After Cosco’s operations in the US were hit by a cyber-attack on Tuesday, July 24, affecting its daily operations, there are reports saying that the cyber attack has spread.
Namely, Cosco’s operations in the US, Canada, Panama, Argentina, Brazil, Peru, Chile and Uruguay have reportedly all been affected. However, operations outside the US are not affected, while terminal operations are continuing unaffected.

As the company informed, the network has failed in Americas, and as a result the email and telephones are not working properly. In addition, Cosco once closed the network of other regions for further investigation.
So far, all the ships have been operating as usual, and the core system is operating normally. Operations in the affected areas are underway and will be fully restored as soon as possible, Cosco said, adding that:
We are pleased to inform you that we have taken effective measures and that, in addition to the above-mentioned fault areas, other regional businesses will soon return to normal.
Furthermore, booking can still take place through the system as usual.
