An explosion took place outside the Port of Los Angeles, on April 15. The explosion led to a fire and destroyed a big rig, as well as various vehicles. According to the relevant authorities, no one was injured due to the explosion.
As local sources informed, the explosion was so powerful that it shattered windows at an apartment complex about two football fields away.
What is more, residents in the area mentioned that they heard the explosion and saw a tall column of black smoke.

Commenting on the incident, the police said that an industrial accident caused the explosion of the cargo container with cars, as it was heading out of the port.
In addition, the L.A. Port police informed that they have the bomb squad and the hazmat team ready, in order to be able to determine what specifically caused the explosion.
The port was working under normal conditions at the time.
