Skuld P&I Club advise operators to be aware when calling at Egyptian ports through the canal
The Skuld P&I Club has issued news advisory on its website to inform operators whose vessel traversing the canal that construction work has been under way for the security aling the canal which remais under the protection of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
Given that the political and social situation in Egypt remains unsettled, the Club advises operators to continue to exercise caution when calling at Egyptian ports and proceeding through the canal.
According to latest information that the Sculd P&I Club has acquired by its correspondents , the work is now at least 45% completed, and the full length of this security fence will be 65 km long.
Ultimately there will be fence and wall constructs at both the southern entrance, and the north around Ismalila and Port Said.
