During president Trump’s first state visit to China, China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and Cheniere Energy signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperation in long-term sales and purchases of of LNG, Reuters reported.
CNPC noted that the collaboration with Cheniere Energy will further develop the cooperation between the two companies regarding Cheniere’s liquefaction and export project in the Gulf of Mexico.
Furthermore, CNPC stated that discussions with Cheniere for further LNG sales will continue the next period.
In June Chenerie and Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS) hailed the commencement of their 20-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA), to supply U.S.-sourced LNG to KOGAS from the Sabine Pass Liquefaction facility in Louisiana.
Moreover, in September CNPC signed an agreement with Italian Eni for oil & gas exploration and production, which will extend to gas and LNG value chain opportunities.
