Clean Marine announced its participation at Nor-shipping in Oslo, May 30th – June 2nd 2017, where visiors will be able to discover and explore its exhaust gas cleaning technologies. The company’s experts are ready to discuss with operators how to comply with the existing and future sulphur regulations and thereby secure sustainable and profitable business.
The Clean Marine EGCS is an Allstream system, which means that all exhaust sources (boilers included) are served by one common EGC unit without any additional back pressure. This makes it a cost-efficent option for vessels with many exhaust sources, as the one EGCS unit simultaneously serve several combustion units.
The company is currently supplying scrubbers for various tanker vessels under construction at leading yards.
Clean Marine will be at Hall C at stand C04-32b at the Norwegian Pavilion.
During its Marine Environment Protection Committee (MEPC) in London, IMO set 1 January 2020, as the implementation date for a significant reduction in the sulphur content of the fuel oil used by ships. The decision represents a significant cut from the 3.5% m/m global limit currently in place.
Ships can meet the requirement by using low-sulphur compliant fuel oil or other approved equivalent methods, such as exhaust gas cleaning systems or “scrubbers”, which “clean” the emissions before they are released into the atmosphere.
