ClassNK has issued new Technical Information to remind operators of the fuel regulations at berth in Hong Kong effective July 2015.
The definition of “arrival” as it pertains to this regulation refers to the moment the vessel is moored or anchored at a berth, while the definition of “departure” refers to the moment the vessel is untied from its berth. In addition, vessels shall be required to record the dates and times of arrivals, departures, completion of switching to compliant fuels and commencement of switching to non-compliant fuels in a log book which shall be maintained on board the vessel for a period of three years.
