The Chinese Navy rescued two crewmembers of a Mongolian vessel that was sinking off Wenzhou in east China’s Zhejiang Province, on Sunday night, January 29.
The vessel Jinan arrived at the scene to rescue the crewmembers, after having been informed that the cargo ship was sinking, Xinhua news agency reports.
Of the two rescued crew, one is Chinese and the other Indonesian, whose lives are now safe. Onboard the ship, which was transferring sugar from Taichung in Taiwan, to the Republic of Korea, there were 11 crewmembers.
The rescue vessel Jinan continues its search and rescue mission, but has not found the other crewmember, though it detected some floating life jackets.
