MPA recognises certificates of competency issued by foreign maritime administrations pursuant to Regulation I/10 of the International Convention on Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping for Seafarers, 1978, as amended, (STCW Convention).
The recognition by MPA is based on the evaluation that the relevant requirements of the STCW Convention, such as maritime training, certification and quality standards, are complied with by the foreign maritime administration and an undertaking has been agreed with the administration.
MPA recognises certificates of competency issued by maritime administrations of the countries listed in the Annex included in the following circular (The Annex will be updated every 6 months)
