A cargo vessel was damaged after grounding in the Bråviken bay, off Sweden, the Swedish Maritime Administration reported. The vessel named ‘Listervik’ allied with rocky bottom west of Oxelösund. After the grounding, the vessel was escorted by the Swedish Coast Guard ships to the Port of Oxelosund where it moored in the morning hours of February 8.
Specifically, the vessel allided with rocky bottom off Sweden.
Due to the grounding, the Faroe Islands-flagged vessel’s open hatch singledecker suffered a hull breach, followed by water ingress.
After the incident, there were no injuries concerning crew members that were reported.
When the incident occurred, Listervik was voyaging to Norrköping, Sweden, from Nakskov, Denmark, carrying a cargo of wheat.
Concluding, the vessel was constructed in 1996, and belongs to the Swedish Uman Rederi AB.
