Steamship Mutual Club informed that its Correspondents in Durban, Shepstone & Wylie report that there is no spot bunker fuel currently available at the port of Durban.
According to local online trade newspaper Africa Ports & Ships, unconfirmed reports suggest that there is no spot bunker fuel currently available at the port of Durban.
This is because of the planned shutdown involving the Engen refinery, which began earlier in February. It has been previously reported that there was a shortage of bunker fuel at the port as the refinery shutdown began to take effect, with no 180 CST fuel available for spot sales.
Shepstone & Wylie confirmed that the Engen refinery is shut down for planned maintenance from 5 February 2018 until 30 March 2018.
