For more than a decade, Dr. Singh has counted Capt. Pradeep Chawla among his closest colleagues and associates, breaking down the reasons that he holds Capt. Chawla in such high esteem. Specifically, he offers a look at a creative leader and thinker who has always refused to settle for anything but his absolute best and thrived as a result.
Capt. Pradeep Chawla joined Sea, 1974 as Deck Cadet, and he has sailed on various ship types and attained the rank of Master in 1986. He then started a shore job in 1992 in Anglo-Eastern Ship Management, while the same year he authored and published a book on ’Safety at Sea’ in Hindi and Tagalog.
After many years of vast experience, Capt. Chawla is now the Managing Director, QHSE and Training at Anglo Eastern Group. He is also an invited member in the Shipping Consultative Committee to the Hong Kong Government, and works as a “Competent Person” for IMO. Further, he is the present Chairman of Global MET Association, and Ex-Vice-President and Council member of Nautical Institute, UK.
“Seafarers who are looking to make the move from ship to shore can read this book and replicate the tips within for superb results. As Capt. Pradeep says, “You should fix your target and work hard to achieve at any cost. This book is as well inspirational for maritime youth who are looking for role models to follow.” Capt. Pradeep’s life and career were not easy, of course, but because of his dedication and hard work, he has succeeded by every measure.”
