Batangas Container Terminal (BCT) has achieved its the highest container throughput it has handled since the beginning commercial operations in 2010. Overall, the BCT handled over 310,000 TEUs.
The figure marks a 25% increase from 2018’s volume, keeping BCT’s double-digit cargo growth over the past six years. This achievement also reduced about 150,000 truck trips from Metro Manila’s roads, with consignees choosing to ship cargoes through BCT.

Before the end of 2019, BCT broke through the 300,000 TEU milestone mark, as SITC’s Stellar Windsor delivered its 300,000th TEU container on 16 December 2019.
The growth can also be attributed to ATI’s expansion program for the fast-growing container terminal in early 2019, which according to local media, has delivered higher capacity and better efficiency for Calabarzon port users.
Currently, BCT is equipped with a 600-meter long berth complemented by four ship-to-shore cranes, eight rubber-tired gantry cranes and other mobile handling equipment, as well as expanded yards with back-up areas for a throughput capacity of approximately 500,000 TEUs per year.
