Amid the COVID-19 outbreak and the crew change matter, the American Club issed a circular, noting that extented the validity of PEME certificates to November 30, 2020.
According to the Club, the major restrictions on shipowners’ ability to perform regular crew changes, due to COVID19, continue to be a challenge for the maritime community.
As a result, and superseding the previous policy notified in Circular 33/20 of August 26, 2020, managers are further extending the validity of American Club PEME certificates to November 30, 2020 for seafarers originating from Bulgaria, India, Indonesia, Latvia, Philippines, Poland, Romania, the Russian Federation and Ukraine who:
1) currently hold valid American Club PEME certificates which have expired, or which are due to expire prior to November 30, 2020
2) are currently deployed onboard a vessel entered for P&I cover with the Club.
For seafarers awaiting deployment, the current requirements remain in effect, as summarized at the club’s website.
