Abu Dhabi, ADT and the UAE’s Automobile and Touring Club (ATCUAE) will cooperate to strengthen the international road transport system (Internationaux Routiers) regarding the maritime movement of goods under import, transit and export customs regulations using Abu Dhabi Terminals (Khalifa Port) located in Abu Dhabi.
The partnership between these parties will help simplify procedures, while also reducing the administrative burden on customs authorities, transport and logistics companies.
As for the Khalifa Port Container Terminal in Abu Dhabi, it is now able to facilitate the growth of trade and transport in the Middle East.
In addition, Ahmed Al Mutawa, Chief Executive Officer of Adac informed that they will double their capacity by the end of 2020, and the station will be connected to the Union Railway in the future.
Adding his comment, Mohammed Bin Salim, President of ACT UAE said that the most important aspect of this strategic partnership is the joint promotion of the use of the international road transport system.
The International Road Transport System aims to ensure safety in the movement of goods with mutual recognition of customs controls, facilitating the commercial and economic development of the UAE.
At the same time, the International Road transport system benefits businesses in the UAE in removing financial burdens by ensuring almost international land transport for customs duties and taxes.
