Electrical issues that took place at APM Terminals’s new Moin container terminal in Costa Rica will lead 12 container ships to be diverted to docks administered by Costa Rica’s port authority JAPDEVA.
As the port authority informed, the container ships will be served during a five-day period, until May 26.

The decision was made in order to prevent disrupting the operations, as the terminal faces some problems with one of the transformers.
JAPDEVA also announced that it communicated with all parties and is committed to provide the necessary service.
Moin container terminal features a 650-meter long pier, along with a container yard which can accommodate 26,000 TEUs. It also offers power connection capacity for 3,800 reefers.
In addition, its six gantry cranes and the 29-yard cranes enable it to carry out about 180 movements per hour for loading and unloading.
