Deck foam system, nitrogen inert gas solution and high pressure washer
Wilhelmsen a provider of engineered solutions, equipment and services for maritime and offshore industries will deliver safety systems toplatform supply vessels constructed at COSCO Guangdong Shipyard.
Recent acquisitions by WTS include Novenco Fire-Fighting A/S which brings specialised knowledge in water mist fire suppression technology. Also added to the portfolio is Maritime Protection, which is specialised in provision of diesel and dual fuel inert gas generators.
The contract includes supply of fire fighting systems such as deck foam system and deep-fat cooker as well as a nitrogen inert gas solution and a high pressure washer to two platform supply vessels (PSV).
For marine and offshore fire fighting applications and particularly where certain owners are looking to move away from CO2 systems, WTS provides the Unitor XFlow Water Mist system. Using patented ‘XFlow’ nozzle technology, this low pressure system can provide protection area up to 5,000 sq m – an area which traditionally has required a high pressure system.
The vessels are being built at China Ocean Shipping Company (COSCO) Guangdong Shipyard in Southern China and are scheduled for delivery in 2014.
