AIDAnova, the first cruise ship that will sail using LNG, left the covered building dock II of MEYER WERFT on Tuesday, August 21, 2018. The ship will dock at the shipyard’s equipment pier and will receive the chimney cowling next to the masts.
There further equipment work will be carried out, such as the interior work and the further tests of the engines with LNG.

At the same time the training of about 1,400 crew members on board will start, because after the delivery in mid-November 2018, the first guests will immediately board the cruise ship.
From December 2018, AIDAnova will start its maiden season with cruises around the Canary Islands. Namely, on December 2, 2018, the cruise ship will visit the Hanseatic City on the Elbe, after which she will head for Gran Canaria.
AIDAnova will have four dual-fuel engines, thanks to which it will be able to operate both in port and at sea with low emission fossil fuel.
