A ship in the Red Sea faced multiple attacks on 13 August, including strikes using an Uncrewed Surface Vehicle (USV), attributed to Yemen’s Houthi rebels, 63NM southwest of Al Hudaydah, Yemen.
According to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the Master of the vessel initially reported an explosion at a distance from the ship. Later, at 0140 UTC, a small craft was observed nearby acting suspiciously and flashing lights toward the vessel.
Subsequently, at 0313 UTC, the Master reported a second explosion in close proximity. Finally, at 0405 UTC, the vessel was attacked by an Uncrewed Surface Vehicle (USV), which was successfully disabled. Fortunately, both the vessel and crew are safe, and the ship is now proceeding to its next port of call.
