According to local news, two Indians stranded on cargo ship off Maldives, without pay and provisions for 13 months.
In particular, the one man was from Tamil Nadu and another from Kerala. They are stranded on MV Puravalan 1, three nautical miles outside Maldives Port.
As they said, they was scheduled to sail for Tuticorin when they joined duty in July 2022.
As informed, they expected more crew to join, but no one joined, even after months.
I was told more crew will join and the ship will sail to India. But no one joined even after two months. I told the management to let me off the ship, but they refused.
..a crew member said.
However, several complaints were filed with relevant Indian authorities, and action against the firm.
An official from the boat operating company, said that the ship stuck in Male.
