ERMA FIRST and Thoresen have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to kick-start cooperation in the installation of ERMA FIRST Ballast Water Treatment Systems (BWTS) on Thoresen vessels.
12 Bulk Carrier vessels will be retrofitted with ERMA FIRST BWTS FIT 1000m3/h, including a full engineering package (3D laser scanning, engineering study, etc.).
The first installation is scheduled for the year to come, whereas the last delivery in 2021.
A representative from Thoresen explained:
“Our main purpose is to establish positive outcomes in communication and cooperation with ERMA FIRST as well as to ensure that our vessels will carry ERMA FIRST BWTS onboard in time and fully meet all related requirements of IMO and USCG.”
Mr. Leif Erik Caspersen, ERMA FIRST International Sales Manager stated,

Finally yet importantly, the representative from Thoresen claimed:
