Tanker charterparties to be examined
Intertanko is to launch a publication comparing the standard charterparties Shelltime 4 (1984), Shelltime 4 (2003) and ShellLNGTime 1 (2005).
According tothose at Maritime Advocate, Rhys Clift of law firm Hill Dickinson has advised that the publication, to be launched on 11th November, will include an executive summary followed by a detailed analysis of each clause of Shelltime 4 (2003) and ShellLNGTime 1 (2005), highlighting the changes in each of these forms compared to Shelltime 4 (1984).
These three charterparty forms are widely used by tanker owners and charterers alike, the lawyer said.
Clift said “We hope that the discussion of the wording and interpretation of the charterparty clauses contained within the book will be of considerable assistance to owners and charterers who are fixing tankers on these forms.”
This work provides guidance mainly on legal matters and was completed by Hill Dickinson and Intertanko, with assistance from Shell and Braemar Seascope.
