Following the COVID-19 outbreak and the major travel restriction issue that has arise, Wilhelmsen coordinated Singapore’s first full crew change for Synergy Group.

Norway-based Wilhelmsen Ship Management (WSM) is crowdfunding to support maritime charity Mission to Seafarers (MtS), in addressing the hardships for seafarers amid the COVID-19 crisis. 

Wallenius Wilhelmsen decided to take strong action to be ready amid the COVID-19 pandemic. The company will withdraw the proposed dividend for 2019, recycle up to four vessels, while it will also place up to 10 vessels in cold lay-up in order to address vessel overcapacity.

Shipping firm Wallenius Wilhelmsen announced that amid the COVID-19 crisis and the disruptions in the industry, cuts its dividend to zero and will mothball up to 10 vessels. In addition, the company added that it will scrap up to four older vessels.

Following the coronavirus outbreak, two online maps have been already launched, presenting the development of the virus, while Wilhelmsen launched its own online tool providing the global port restrictions, easing the shipping industry.

Wilhelmsen announced that it delivered 3D printed parts to Berge Bulk vessel, with scupper plugs being one of the part categories. This delivery is part of a Wilhelmsen's program for on-demand additive manufacturing, while parts in this program are being monitored in close collaboration with DNV GL.

The above-mentioned early adopters, goal to follow the increasing demands of the additive manufacturing.
