An evaluation by international tanker owner Stena Bulk revealed that the IMOIIMAX type of its 13 chemical vessels has been a success, both in terms of performance and business. An IMOIIMAX tanker has 18 separate tanks and is also characterised by high safety and low fuel consumption.

Stena Bulk signed a scrubber solution agreement with Chinese Bluesoul to retrofit its Suezmax and IMOIIMAX fleets. Stena Bulk will equip 15 vessels with scrubbers and have an additional 6 options for installation before 2020. The scrubber will removes the sulphur, as well as particles from the exhaust.

Stena Bulk informed that the chemical and product tanker Stena Impero was named earlier this week in Guangzhou, southeast China. The ships is the last in a series of 13 ships ordered by Stena Bulk at the shipyard Guangzhou Shipbuilding International in 2012. The ship will be delivered on 7 February and after that it will start its maiden voyage with a cargo of vegetable oils from Asia to Europe.

Stena Bulk conducted a digital naming ceremony for its IMOIIMAX tanker 'Stena Immortal' at the company's new office in Hellerup in the north of Copenhagen. When the ship was named, it was not physically present in Copenhagen, but in Houston where it is already in service.

Stena Bulk announced the reorganisation of its business activities into three business areas: Crude & Fuel, Products & Chemicals and LNG and have appointed two new managing directors. A new office will open in Copenhagen.

Stena Bulk held a naming ceremony for its two new IMOIIMAX tankers at the Chinese shipyard GSI in Guangzhou, in southeast China, on August 22. The Stena Imperator and her sister Stena Imprimis are no 11 and 12, in a series of 13 identical IMOIIMAX tankers all ordered by Stena Bulk.

On April 18th, Stena Bulk company conducted a naming ceremony for the MR tanker "Stena Imagination" in the Port Rashid Terminal, Dubai. All the guests were given the opportunity to inspect the vessel, from her engine room all the way up to the bridge.

The time-charter contracts are with Stena Bulk and cover the wholly owned Concordia Maritime tankers Stena Perros and Stena President, for one year each

Following a reorganisation, Stena Bulk took back the overall responsibility for the commercial operation and technical management of the three LNG tankers Stena Blue Sky, Stena Crystal Sky and Stena Clear Sky from Stena LNG on January 1.
