Russian Maritime Register of Shipping and Greek shipowners suffered from the deceit

RS HELLAS LTD has issued false classification certificates using documents similar to the RS Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) will officially inform that having no authorization to carry out ships' surveys and to issue the RS documents, RS HELLAS LTD, the former RS agent in the Republic of Greece, has issued false classification certificates using forms of documents similar to the RS ones. RS has never provided RS HELLAS LTD with the RS forms of documents, stamps and protection marks used for drawing up ship's documents. The fact of deceit was reported to RS by Greek law enforcement authorities.RS has withdrawn the RS HELLAS LTD authority to assume any liabilities or to act as an agent and representative to the Maritime Administration of Greece and shipowners on behalf of RS.Information agencies reported that documents on instituting criminal proceedings against Antonios Petridis, RS HELLAS LTD Director, were referred to the prosecution agency by the Coast Guard of the Republic of Greece. RS class to construct new vessel for carrying irradiated nuclear fuel

The vessel will be operated by ATOMFLOT In July 2010, Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) completed survey over construction of a new vessel for the carriage of irradiated nuclear fuel.The modern vessel Rossita with displacement equal to 4 000 t was designed for irradiated nuclear fuel and radioactive wastes transportation. Rossita was constructed under the agreement between the State Atomic Energy Corporation ROSATOM and the Ministry of the Economic Development of Italy to the RS class at Fincantieri shipyard in Italy.The vessel will be operated by the Russian Federal State Unitary Enterprise ATOMFLOT.The RS surveyors carried out design appraisal and survey during construction of the vessel. Application of gas will enable to cut NOx and SOx emissions Russian Maritime Register of Shipping (RS) will classify two state-of-the-art LNG carriers, ordered by Sovcomflot for Gazprom Global LNG, the societys press release said.A series of two membrane 170 000 cbm capacity LNG carriers for the charterer Gazprom Global LNG (a Gazprom subsidiary) will be constructed in South Korea. According to the specification, the vessels will be designed and constructed to the RS class with the class notation:KM (*) Ice2 AUT1 OMBO EPP ANTI-ICE LI CCO ECO-S WINTERIZATION(-30) Gas carrier type 2G (methane)The classification will be performed jointly by two societies, RS being the leading one. The vessels will be equipped with a tri-fuel diesel-electric powerplant, allowing to use LNG as fuel.
