Rosneft deploys modern barge to Murmansk

But state-owned oil company may switch the vessel to St Petersburg Rosneft Marine UK, a subsidiary of Russian state-owned oil company OJSC Rosneft, has brought a new bunker delivery tanker into service at the northern Russian port of Murmansk. Rosneft Marine UK was established in 2010 to support Rosneftʼs international marine fuel business.The Russian-flag, 4,622 dwt RN Magellan, built in 2007, is part of Rosneft Marineʼs on-going strategy to replace ageing bunker tankers from the Soviet era. The company says it is examining the possibility of relocating the tanker to St. Petersburg due to its high-end delivery capabilities and environmentally friendly design.Vladimir Brezhnev, Director of Rosneft Marine UK, said: "One of our highest priorities is to ensure that our fleet complies with current industry and environmental standards and the RN Magellan is an excellent testament of this commitment."The latest addition of RN Magellan to Rosneft Marineʼs bunker tanker fleet follows the companyʼs announcement last month of the delivery of RN Taurus to service the Black Sea Port of Tuapse. Rosneft introduces modern tanker at Tuapse

Russian oil major also expanding in Murmansk and in Russian Far East Two subsidiaries of Russian state-owned oil company OJSC Rosneft, Rosneft Marine UK RN-Bunker, have jointly deployed a bunker tanker to deliver supplies at the Russian Black Sea Port of Tuapse.The 2007-built, 3,569 dwt RN Taurus is on a time-charter from Rosnefteflot, a joint venture between Rosneft and Sovcomflot.RN-Bunker director Andrei Tuchnin said: "Rosneft is committed to improving service to our customers by continuing to introduce modern and up-to-date vessels and technologies. RN Taurus will ensure that our customers receive reliable and efficient delivery while we play our part in helping protect the environment that we operate within."The company says bring the modern vessel into service is part of a s strategy to develop modern, environmentally friendly bunker tankers for use in Russian ports while replacing ageing bunker tankers from the Soviet era. The RN Taurus as pumps in each of its cargo tanks and is capable of delivering 150 cu m of bunker fuel an hour.
