ReCAAP ISC informs that a total of 25 incidents of armed robbery against ships were reported in Asia during January-March 2023. This accounts for a 9% increase in the total number of incidents during the same period in 2022.

Two incidents of armed robbery against ships in Asia (one CAT 3 incident and one CAT 4 incident) were reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 11 – 17 April.

One CAT 4 incident of armed robbery against ships in Asia was reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 4 - 10 Apr.

Five incidents of armed robbery against ships in Asia (two CAT 3 and three CAT 4 incidents) were reported to ReCAAP ISC, between 28 March – 3 April 2023.

ReCAAP ISC informed that four incidents were reported on board ships while underway in the eastbound lane of the Singapore Strait, from 27 – 31 March 2023.

Two incidents of armed robbery against ships in Asia (both CAT 4 incidents) was reported to ReCAAP ISC,  between 21 – 27 March 2023.
