The US Coast Guard has issued an updated type-approval certificate for TeamTec OceanSaver Ballast Water Treatment System, following recent sale of OceanSaver’s assets to IMS Group.

In the light of OceanSaver's recent bankruptcy, the US Coast Guard Marine Safety Center issued guidance on what happens if a manufacturer of approved equipment goes out of business.

On September 20th, IMS group signed a purchase agreement with the OceanSaver Trustee to acquire all intellectual property, certificates and assets after OceanSaver’s bankruptcy filed on September 13th 2017.

The Norwegian-based manufacturer, OceanSaver, which was one of the first to receive the USCG Type- Approval for its BWTS, is heading towards bankruptcy. The sad news was announced by Aage Bjørn Andersen, who is one of  the two founders of the company.  OceanSaver has not made any official announcement so far.
