A dry dock at the General Dynamics NASSCO gave way suffering a flooding incident on Wednesday night. At the time of the incident, the 'USNS Miguel Keith', a new Expeditionary Sea Base (ESB) to join the US Navy’s Military Sealift Command, was at the dock.

American shipbuilding company, General Dynamics NASSCO, announced it has started the construction on a Kanaloa-class containership for Matson Navigation Company, Inc., as part of a two-ship contract.

On Saturday, March 25, General Dynamics NASSCO christened and launched the Palmetto State – the final ship in an eight-ship ECO Class tanker program to be constructed at NASSCO. The ship and her sister tankers are the most fuel-efficient tankers to service the Jones Act trade, with an “ECO” design offering 33 percent increased fuel efficiency and cleaner shipping options.

General Dynamics NASSCO has announced that it delivered the third and final ship to be constructed for SEA-Vista LLC ,Liberty, as part of a larger eight-ship ECO Class tanker program.

General Dynamics NASSCO has christened the Liberty, the third ECO Class tanker under contract with customer SEA-Vista LLC. Designed for improved fuel efficiency, the 610-foot-long, 50,000 deadweight ton, LNG-conversion-ready ECO Class tanker symbolizes the emerging direction of the shipping industry in the U.S. toward cleaner modes of transporting product, the company said.

General Dynamics NASSCO shipbuilders have announced the delivery of the Constitution, an American Jones Act-qualified ECO Class tanker, to SEA-Vista LLC. The ship was delivered during a special signing ceremony at the company’s shipyard in San Diego.

General Dynamics NASSCO hosted a keel laying ceremony for the Palmetto State, the eighth ship in an eight-ship ECO Class tanker program for two separate customers, on September 23.

APT's fourth ECO Class tanker, which is under construction at Californian shipbuilder General Dynamics NASSCO’s shipyard in San Diego, was christened with the traditional break of a champagne bottle alongside the ship.
