EU approves CMA CGM and CIMC joint venture

Under the European Merger Regulation, the European Commission announced the approval of a newly-proposed joint venture between the French shipping company CMA CGM and China International Marine Containers Neocontainer Logistics Limited (CIMC Neocontainer), part of CIMC Group. 

Scrubber makers complete merger

In fact, two scrubber manufacturers backed by Frontline and Navig8 Group have completed a merger to create one of the world’s biggest suppliers of exhaust gas cleaning kits. Namely, Clean Marine has finalized the tie-up with FMSI, as planned earlier in October.

Prosafe-Floatel merger raises competition concerns

An in-depth Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) review has provisionally found that the proposed merger between Prosafe and Floatel raises competition concerns. According to the UK CMA, both companies supply semi-submersible offshore accommodation support vessels (semi-submersible ASVs) to oil and gas companies, which are consequently used to provide accommodation space for employees working offshore and are a key facility for some types of work in the North Sea.

Clean Marine, FMSI plan to merge

Clean Marine AS and FMSI announced that they will merge. The combined entity, which will operate under the name Clean Marine, aims to better position Clean Marine to meet the needs of its customers and the increasing demand for EGCS.

DP World to complete merger of Topaz and P&O by end 2019

Dubai-based port operator DP World is expected to complete merger of its P&O Maritime and recently-acquired Topaz Energy and Marine businesses by the end of the year, Topaz CEO Rene Kofod-Olsen said on Monday. DP World bought Dubai-based oil services company Topaz in July.

Integration process started for Nordic Tankers and MOL Chemical Tankers

MOL Nordic Tankers (MOLNT) informed that a full integration process of the company into MOL Chemical Tankers (MOLCT) has began, and is expected to be completed within 2020. MOLCT acquired MOLNT in January 2019. After the acquisition, MOLNT said that it sees this full integration as a natural step towards further developing our business to the benefit of our customers.

CMA CGM completes tender to acquire CEVA Logistics

French shipping giant CMA CGM announced successful completion of its public tender offer to acquire Swiss CEVA Logistics. Following the close of the public tender offer launched on 12 February, CMA CGM will hold 97.89% of the outstanding shares and voting rights of CEVA.

CMA CGM combines Containerships and MacAndrews

French shipping giant CMA CGM Group combined its two experts in intra-European multimodal transport, Containerships and MacAndrews, under the Containerships brand. The brand now offers 26 maritime services and 8 inland services operated through a fleet of 32 vessels and 700 trucks.
