The Japan Transport Safety Board issued an investigation report on the fatality of two and injury of one worker onboard the cargo ship ‘BBC ASIA’, who were caught between pipes being hoisted by the crane and a side wall during cargo handling, on October 2016, at Hanshin Port.
Rescuers have recovered the bodies of 12 Chinese people who went missing, after their fishing vessel collided with an oil tanker, off Japan, on Thursday morning. Also, one of the four rescued crew members is said to have died after being picked up by nearby vessels.
Twelve people are missing, following collision of their fishing vessel with an oil tanker, off the west coast of Japan, on Thursday morning. The boat was carrying 16 people inboard, four of whom were rescued by the Chinese Coast Guard.
The Japan Transport Safety Board issued an investigation report on the collision between a container ship and a fishing vessel off Himeshima Village, Oita Prefecture, Japan, that killed one person. The report includes causes of the incident and lessons learnt, to prevent similar accidents from occurring in the future.
There were about 780 accidents over the 10 years through 2014 in which vessels accidentally collided with and damaged maritime navigation signs in seas off Japan, with 70 percent of them found to be “hit-and-run” cases, according to the Japan Coast Guard.
