Evoqua Water Technologies informed that it has successfully completed all biological efficacy US Coast Guard Type-Approval tests for its electrochlorination SeaCURE BWMS. Tests were carried out under the supervision of  Lloyd’s Register and the independent laboratory NSF International will now compile test data for submission to the USCG for imminent approval. 

Evoqua Water Technologies has re-modelled its SeaCURE® ballast water management system, in order to boost its flow rate performance. Introduced during the Nor-Shipping 2017 exhibition and conference, the next generation is a skid-mounted, plug-in-and-play ballast water treatment system, 76% smaller and 85% lighter than earlier generations of the system.

Evoqua Water Technologies announced that is upgrading its SeaCURE® system production facility in Caldicot, Wales, to meet market demand for ballast water treatment systems and shipowners requirement to comply with the entry into force of the Ballast Water Management Convention, this coming September.

Evoqua has been awarded a contract to supply two 115,000dwt crude oil tankers under construction for a Singapore-based ship owner with its SeaCURE system as a ballast water management solution.

Evoqua Water Technologies has joined forces with Hai Cheung which is due to support Chinese shipyards with the supply and service of Evoqua’s SeaCURE BWMS. In a second phase of the agreement, the Hong Kong-based engineering company will then produce the SeaCURE system under licence to facilitate demand from Chinese yards.

DNV GL has assessed and granted Type Approval certification to Evoqua Water Technologies for its SeaCURE BWMS.

The Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency of Germany (Bundesamt für Seeschifffahrt und Hydrographie- BSH), which previously granted the Evoqua SeaCURETM Ballast Water Management (BWT) system type approval, has now certified the SeaCURE system to operate in volumes from 500-4,000m3/hr. suitable for a wide range of container, LNG, tanker and other vessels.

Evoqua Water Technologies will present technical information about its type-approved SeaCURE Ballast Water Management System and applicability to new builds and retrofits at the Posidonia International Shipping Exposition in Athens, Greece.
